Services
Sanctuary
Identify chronic issues that may affect the horses' health and well-being, and determine if they are suitable for re-homing. Create a comprehensive and detailed record for each resident horse, containing vital information for future reference and use. Select an appropriate location on the Ocala property that will serve as their residence. Finally, pair each horse with compatible residents to ensure a harmonious living environment.
Rehabilitation
Attend to various health issues that include essential services such as dental care, farrier services for hoof health, and necessary veterinary bills. Additionally, work diligently to restore trust in humans, which is crucial for the well-being of the horses. Establish a personalized health regimen tailored to each horse
Adoption/Rehoming
Actively connect with individuals and organizations within the horse community to identify potential adopters for specific horses.
Engage with visitors at our facility and the properties of our partner fosters to introduce the horses available for adoption.
Conduct thorough background checks on interested adopters, ensuring they meet our standards for responsible horse ownership. Provide the necessary paperwork to facilitate the adoption process.
Assist in coordinating logistical needs related to adoption, including transportation and any additional resources the adopters may require.
Equine Therapy
Horse Rescue Alliance is dedicated to providing a second chance to horses in need through compassionate care and rehabilitation. At our partnering facilities, we focus on equine therapy programs that not only aid in the physical and emotional healing of the horses but also promote their transition into loving forever homes. At our partner facility, each horse receives Equine therapy, also known as horse-assisted therapy, which harnesses the unique bond between humans and horses to facilitate emotional healing and personal growth. Engaging with horses offers individuals a chance to experience non-judgmental companionship, fostering an environment where they can process their feelings and build trust. The rhythmic movements of riding can have a calming effect, reducing anxiety and promoting mindfulness. Interaction with these intuitive animals provides opportunities for individuals to develop empathy, patience, and self-awareness, which are essential for holistic healing. Through care and communication with horses, clients often find a renewed sense of purpose and connection, allowing their souls to mend and thrive. individualized attention and therapy tailored to their needs, allowing them to thrive in a supportive environment. General Handling and Groundwork
Leading: Teach the horse to walk calmly beside a handler, promoting a trusting relationship between the horse and the person.
Lunging: Use a lunge line to help the horse understand movement, direction, and rhythm, enhancing both the horse's responsiveness and the handler's confidence.
Standing: Encourage patience while the horse learns to stand still for extended periods, cultivating both mental focus and relaxation in the training process.
