Located in the beautiful area of Duluth, Minnesota, 57 Ranches encompasses a generous 34 acres of land devoted entirely to the noble cause of rescuing and rehabilitating horses that have been transported from various locations across the country. Our facilities feature a heated barn and an indoor training arena, which enable our skilled trainers to care for and train our resident horses throughout the year, regardless of the weather conditions. This ensures that they receive the training and attention they need in a safe and controlled environment, while extensive pastures and turnout areas allow them opportunities to roam freely and graze as weather permits.
Services
Sanctuary
Identify chronic issues that may affect the horses' well-being and determine if the horses are suitable for re-homing. Create a comprehensive and detailed record for each resident horse, ensuring that it contains all pertinent information for future reference and use. Select an appropriate location on the Ocala property that will serve as their new residence. Pair each horse with compatible residents to promote a harmonious living environment.
Rehabilitation
Attend to various health issues, including the essential aspects of dental care, farrier services, and the necessary vet bills. Establish a comprehensive health regimen to ensure the horses maintain their overall well-being. Work patiently to restore trust in humans after periods of neglect or trauma. Implement a regular grooming schedule to promote not only healthy coat growth but also to enhance the bond between the horse and caretaker.
Adoption/Rehoming
Locate potential adopters. Reach out to individuals within the horse community and make phone calls to anyone who might be interested in specific horses that are available for adoption. Engage meaningfully with people visiting our facilities, as well as those visiting our foster homes at our partner properties. Execute thorough background checks on potential adopters and provide all necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth adoption process. Assist in facilitating the various needs surrounding each adoption, including transportation arrangements, resources, and other relevant support.
Equine Therapy
Horse Rescue Alliance is dedicated to providing a second chance to horses in need through compassionate care and rehabilitation. At our partnering facilities, we focus on equine therapy programs that not only aid in the physical and emotional healing of the horses but also promote their transition into loving forever homes. At our partner facility, each horse receives Equine therapy, also known as horse-assisted therapy, which harnesses the unique bond between humans and horses to facilitate emotional healing and personal growth. Engaging with horses offers individuals a chance to experience non-judgmental companionship, fostering an environment where they can process their feelings and build trust. The rhythmic movements of riding can have a calming effect, reducing anxiety and promoting mindfulness. Interaction with these intuitive animals provides opportunities for individuals to develop empathy, patience, and self-awareness, which are essential for holistic healing. Through care and communication with horses, clients often find a renewed sense of purpose and connection, allowing their souls to mend and thrive. individualized attention and therapy tailored to their needs, allowing them to thrive in a supportive environment. Training
Develop personalized training programs tailored to the individual needs and characteristics of each horse. Introduce essential handling techniques and groundwork that encompass leading, lunging, standing, and working in crossties, as well as under saddle training. Familiarize the horses with necessary aspects of their care, including routine vet visits, dental work, hoof maintenance, grooming, clipping, and other important practices that contribute to their overall well-being.
