Goldie

Goldie, a 3 year old Quarter Horse mare, was scheduled to meet her end at an Oklahoma auction house when we first heard about her. She was in need of major surgery on her legs and was most likely never to be ridden. After being sent the photo of Goldie from one of our partners, we decided to rescue Goldie despite her needs.

Most people are unable to follow through with surgeries on horses because it is expensive and requires extensive rehab but we wanted Goldie to be an example for the future and paid for the University of Oklahoma to operate on Goldie’s legs while helping to educate prospective students.

Goldie was then transported to Davie Stables for rehab and a second surgery leading to today where she is able to walk and run enthusiastically around her paddock with her past far behind her.
